Divisions
Our divisions meet regularly and in addition to the AIANZ’s own weekly e-newsletter, provide tailored news to their members.
Membership of the AIANZ largely falls under six divisions
That includes the NZ Agricultural Association (NZAAA), the NZ Helicopter Association (NZHA), Supply, Service and Engineering (SSE), that includes engineers and suppliers to the industry, Training and Development (T&D), Unmanned Aerial Vehicles NZ (UAVNZ) or Drones and the Operational Division as one group. There are also several individual members, that include pilots but also many others who have enjoy current and past involvement with the aviation industry.
NZ Agricultural Aviation Association (NZAAA)
The NZAAA was the first division of the original AIANZ, and was founded in 1949. It was initially known as the NZ Aerial Work Operators Association.
NZ Helicopter Association (NZHA)
As with its counterpart, the NZHA promotes the interests of its members in addressing issues that threaten the operations of helicopters whether that use is for commercial or private means.
Service, Supply and Engineering Division (SSE)

Training and Development
This division of the AIANZ provides leadership for operators that focus on training and development for the aviation industry.
Operational Division
The Operational Division represents the diverse interests of commercial fixed-wing operators, whether they are regular scheduled airlines providing services to, through and beyond New Zealand, or non-scheduled air transport or freight operators. This division also includes New Zealand\’s tourism flight operators (TFOs).
UAVNZ (Drones)
As another division within the AIANZ, UAVNZ represents the growing number of unmanned aerial vehicle operators. The sector is regulated under Part 102 of the CAA legislation.

Agricultural drone operations in the Aviation Industry Association
AIANZ offers a joint membership programme for agricultural drone operators.
This programme offers people the opportunity to join both the New Zealand Agricultural Aviation Association (NZAAA) and UAVNZ divisions under a single membership of the Aviation Industry Association.
